Adizone Launch

Getting warmed up in preparation for the 2012 Olympics, JohnathonEdwards visited Preston on the 17th March to open the recreation area on the Park known as ‘ADIZONE’.

This area offers the local communities a free activity facility on the Park, for residents and park users to access.

Johnathon was excited to see what facilities the city provides for Sport and Physical Activity and the opportunities available to Preston’s younger generation, aspiring to be the next Olympian to represent their Country!

Lots of different sports and exercise types were on offer, from an outside gym facility and a triple jump leap, to football, basketball, cycling and disability cycling provision from Cycling Projects, with the ‘Preston On Wheels’ project.

Lots of children from Preston schools, including specialist schools, attended the launch, and were amazed at the different types of cycles that were on offer to try! Giving those children and young people with differing needs the chance to cycle on a range of adapted bikes!
