Cycling Projects Volunteer Awards Evening
On Tuesday the 13th December Cycling Projects hosted their third annual Volunteer Awards Evening at the Warrington Wolves Stadium.
The event saw around 150 guests from volunteers, participants, partners, trustees and staff from our national Wheels for All centres, travelled to the North West for the award ceremony.
The evening was an opportunity to recognise the efforts and contributions of all the many people who support the charity, highlight the good practice delivered across the region and beyond from the last twelve months and to raise the profile of volunteering.
To recognise personal achievements made by individuals throughout the year, anyone connected to our Wheels for All centres were asked to vote for their volunteers/centre and nominate them for one of the six awards. The winners were revealed:
Contribution Award – Jean Woods
This award recognises the contribution by an individual to the charity in variety of capacities.
Fundraising Achievement Award – Karen Hackney
An individual or group who have excelled in fundraising for the charity Cycling Projects.
Young Volunteer of the Year – Aaron Brown
A volunteer under the age of 25 who has by his/her work made a significant contribution to their centre.
Best New Comer to Cycling Projects – Fred Pate
A volunteer who has joined Cycling Projects in the last year and has made outstanding progress within the organisation.
Outstanding Commitment Award - Michael Nott
A person whose dedication has made a significant impact on the continued success of Cycling Projects over the years
Wheels for All Centre of the Year – Blackpool Wheels for All Centre
The centre displaying the best commitment in creating a successful community cycling environment
The night was finished off with a great raffle where over £600 was raised which will go towards the Wheels for All programme enabling more people to cycle. Again we would like to thank all the organisations who made kind contributions and supported us with the evening.
