Well Done Team CP!
We would like to say a big well done to our Cycling Projects team who this weekend took part in the gruelling 112 mile cycle challenge to raise money for charity!
The Fred Whitton challenge consists of cycling around the Lake District, with some very difficult & vertical climbs. Our team decided to take on the challenge this year to raise money for Cycling Projects; some of them didn’t know what they were letting themselves in for!
After an exhausting day on the saddle the team finished from between an impressive 7 - 11 hours, raising over £1000 for the charity. We would like to say a big thank you to: Ian Tierney, Bob Pugh, Kevin McCann, Iain Lancaster & Daniel Coonan (Cycling Projects Staff). Although they are still recovering with sore legs, hopefully they plan to do the same for us next year!
Also this weekend, David Pownall (Wheels for All Training Co-ordinator) took part in the Sanctury for Healing Bike Ride to raise money. Cycling 7.5 miles might sound easy but try doing it on a Wheelchair Transporter especially uphill. Great effort!
We have several cycle rides/challenges this summer you can take part in to raise money for the charity. Get in touch for more details.
