Wheels for All in Ireland
The very first Wheels for All training course took place last weekend in Northern Ireland; being held in Belfast at the Ozone Complex.
The course tutors- David Pownall and Hermine Briffa transported a range of special adapted bikes on the ferry. With the weather being rather mild on the day, the cycles where used in the beautiful Ormeau Park. It was a great training sessions with a full class of eagur, enthusiastic people excited by the thought of having a disability cycling centre in their local area.
Cycling Projects will now work with the two partners CTC & Venture Outdoors who arranged the training, to develop the first Northern Ireland Wheels for All centre. Two adapted cycles have been loaned to assist in the development of the centre and course delegates are keen to work together in the development of the new facility in Belfast.
