Oxford Wheels for All - taster day!

The team here at Cycling Projects traveled to Cutteslowe Park in Oxford last Friday 28th October to support their first disability cycling taster day open to individuals, care groups and families.

Working in partnership with Oxfordshire Sports Partnership and Oxford City Council aiming to develop their own ‘Wheels for All’ Centre, we took a range of adapted cycles allowing locals to try out what could soon be on offer in the area. The day was not only to allow locals to try out the range of adapted cycles but to inform them of the potential training opportunities and learn how they can get involved as a volunteer or sponsor.

It was a fantastic autumn day with the sun shining and over 25 groups attending to try out the cycles, showing their support in helping to develop the centre which is much needed in the area. Parents, carers, physiotherapists and service users saw clear benefits from having regular disability cycle sessions with a range of these adapted cycles to use.

Cycling Projects will be delivering another taster day in Oxfordshire on Saturday the 12th November at Queens Dyke School, Witney. If you would like to book onto the session contact James Craggs Tel :01865 252678, Email: jcraggs@oxfordshiresport.org
